Interior/Exterior Design, Restoration, Rehab, & Architectural Salvage/Repurposing 2021-Present

LMG STUDIO 104 W MAIN ST, WARE, MA

A glimpse at the renovation I am performing on my personal residence. An 1870s colonial in the heart of Ware. This house was a few years from being a teardown with rotted floor joists, holes in the roof, and a massive roach infestation from the previous owners lack of upkeep. This is my first journey into historical restoration, adding my spin of architectural salvage and repurposing, which is certainly the cheapest way of instilling beauty and quality being in our unfortunate throw away society. Discarded furniture, reclaimed wood, and estate sale lots can all lead you to to an exciting and unpredictable finished product while still paying respect to our planet.

Front of House

A house that was past its prime with chipping paint, weathered white vinyl siding, and atrocious black aluminum trim. Hints of its past beauty still remaining in brick coursing and its proud columns have now been reclaimed and restored to emit some light on the redeveloping business district of Ware.

Front Porch Exterior Before & After

Porch Interior Before & After

The front sunroom, once an exterior porch was disconnected from its outdoor interaction with plywood, spray painted windows, and rotting door. It is now a bright room that feels as though it is outside with the yellow to match the exterior and green of the trees free to move into the space with the reconditioned windows.

Kitchen Before & After

A sketch and a bare kitchen started the process of renovation towards a 1920s era diner. The original tin ceiling, jellyjar pendant, and wall sconces give it a running start.

  • Custom Kitchen Cabinets

    Custom Kitchen Cabinets

A built in you will see no where else. Made from a discarded oak curio cabinet cut in half being complimented by some stackable book cases and a pair of curved art deco shelves. A period correct fridge will occupy the large void.

  • Dining Table & Booth

Some vinyl booths from a defunct restaurant were backed with shortened 5-panel doors and trimmed with reclaimed door casing. The original pine flooring of the kitchen was flipped backwards and used as wainscoting. The minisplit is trimmed in a similar fashion to bring it back to the 1920s style.

  • Custom Over Sink Cabinets

Remnants of a broken hutch lies centered with the drawer openings left empty and glass shelves placed on each horizontal support. Similar stackable book cases cap off each side and still have their functioning door that can either hinge open or slide into the case unit.
